Founded Vesta in 1996

Rick founded Vesta Hospitality in 1996 with a vision of creating unique hotels that offer the finest in quality and service. He has earned a reputation for attracting and retaining talented hospitality industry professionals who in turn create successful hotels with outstanding customer satisfaction.

Rick is a community and industry leader for many organizations. Rick serves on the Board of Directors for the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) where he serves on the Board of Directors for Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association (ORLA). He is also on the Board of Southwest PeaceHealth Foundation and the Executive Committee of the same Foundation.

Fun fact: Rick started in the hotel industry as a night auditor in Vail, Colorado.

Joined Vesta in 2013

Mike works with the Vesta Development team to identify and determine valuation for potential hotel acquisitions and to develop equity relationships.

Mike has been active as a volunteer and patron of the Jimmy Fund and has been a board member and sponsor for youth hockey programs across the country.

Fun fact: Mike is an avid golfer but admits that he and his golf partners play fast and not always well.

Joined Vesta in 2004

Rob leads business development for Vesta Hospitality, focusing on acquisitions, development and strategic growth initiatives that strengthen the company’s unique portfolio. He works closely with owners and brokers to identify opportunities that align with Vesta’s long-term vision and operational excellence.

Fun fact: Rob lives on a floating home in Portland and spends his free time boating, golfing, and exploring new destinations.

Joined Vesta in 2015

Elson works with individual accredited investors who wish to participate directly in hotel acquisitions in conjunction with institutional equity partners. These properties are enhanced through experienced active management and value-added capital expenditures to maximize risk-adjusted investment returns.

In addition to serving on numerous state and regional boards and commissions, Elson served for more than 30-years as President of two major non-profit organizations.

Fun fact: Other than Vesta, Elson’s primary focus is visiting his four grandchildren.

Joined Vesta in 2025

Morgan works in Investor Relations and Acquisitions, where she focuses on cultivating investor relationships, supporting capital sourcing, and identifying new acquisition and development opportunities.

Morgan is active in her community and involved in mission work locally and internationally, reflecting her commitment to servant leadership.

Fun fact: Morgan loves the outdoors — you'll find her hunting, fishing, or skiing whenever she gets the chance.

Joined Vesta in 2006

Mark provides strategic leadership and oversight for our diverse portfolio of hospitality assets. He works closely with hotel owners to align business objectives, maximize asset value, and ensure strong financial performance. Mark maintains productive relationships with franchise partners to uphold brand standards and drive growth opportunities. His responsibilities include developing revenue strategies, ensuring excellent guest experiences, enhancing profitability, overseeing capital planning and physical asset maintenance, and ensuring operational excellence across all properties. He leads the operations team through coaching and performance development while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Fun fact: Mark likes fun socks and uses them as a fashion statement!

Joined Vesta in 2019

Linh is Vice President of Brand and Communications where she leads brand strategy, marketing, and storytelling for our independent boutique hotels. She works closely with owners and operators to drive revenue and shape property narratives that reflect both vision and place.

Linh is active in the Astoria community and serves on boards that support the people, businesses, and destinations that sustain Oregon’s travel and hospitality industry.

Fun fact: Linh loves all things analog and her adorable pug, Sammy.

Joined Vesta in 2007

Marci is the Director of Administration & Executive Assistant to Rick Takach, Vesta’s Chairman & CEO. She coordinates Rick’s calendar and ensures his meetings run smoothly. Marci also oversees Vesta’s Personality Profiling Instrument that is used company wide.

Fun fact: Marci is a huge Green Bay Packers football fan but has never attended a game at Lambeau Field.

Joined Vesta in 2002

Susanne partners with leaders across Vesta to elevate culture, develop talent, and turn strategy into action. She is known for blending people-first thinking with operational impact.

Outside of Vesta, she serves in Rotary leadership, helping drive service projects and community engagement.

Fun fact: Originally from Europe, Susanne is always planning her next travel adventure.

Joined Vesta in 2016

Erick develops, executes and supports overall sales & marketing strategies across the company’s hotel portfolio. Erick lives in Bend, Oregon and enjoys experiencing the outdoor activities that Central Oregon offers. During his time in Bend, he has served on several boards including Visit Bend.

Fun Fact: Erick is a big sports fan and enjoys attending Oregon Duck football games at Autzen Stadium with his friends and family.

Joined Vesta in 1997

Julie is the Chief Financial Officer where she oversees the accounting department and serves as part of the leadership team focused on financial strategy and operational performance. With deep expertise in hospitality, she plays a key role in driving growth and maximizing asset performance.

Fun Fact: Julie and her husband visit at least one new professional sporting stadium in a different city each year.

Joined Vesta in 2022

As part of the accounting team, Joel manages payroll and benefit activities for the Vesta properties. The most enjoyable part of his job is providing the hotel team members with concise payroll support.

Fun Fact: Most recently, Joel’s time has been devoted to training his rottweiler puppy, Colby. He enjoys traveling and, on the weekends, cooking various ethnic dishes.

Joined Vesta 2017

Angie works with general managers and property accountants to ensure bills are paid in a timely manner and local vendor relations are in good standings.

Fun Fact: Angie is a gamer: video games, board games, card games. She is also a plant aficionado with over 200 house plants, and she is an amateur weather guru with a nationally certified weather station.

Joined Vesta 2021

Meg brings a forward-thinking approach to financial operations. She focuses on financial accounting and manages day-to-day accounting activities; supporting both field and corporate operations to help ensure accuracy and efficiency across processes.

Fun fact: Meg used to cook professionally now she does it to relax

Joined Vesta 2022

Sara handles month end close, manages account reconciliations, financial statements, and daily accounting support for Vesta hotel teams.

Fun fact: Sara was once on Family Feud with her family!
